DHANGADHI: Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Rajendra Singh Rawal, is taking a vote of confidence today (Thursday).

Even though he was supposed to take the vote of confidence on Wednesday, it was postponed at the last minute after the Nagarik Unmukti Party decided not to give a vote of confidence to CM Rawal.

According to the Sudurpaschim Parliament Secretariat, Chief Minister Rawal will take the vote of confidence at 1 pm today.

Rawal has a constitutional obligation to receive a vote of confidence within a month of his appointment as a CM.

CM Rawal became the CM with the support of provincial assembly members from CPN-UML, the Maoist Center, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and the Nagarik Unmukti Party.

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has been demanding to its demand of releasing the party leader Resham Lal Choudhary.

The party has 7 MPs in the provincial assembly.

If the Nagarik Unmukti Party does not vote, the government led by Rawal will fail, and the provincial parliament secretariat will proceed with the selection of a new Chief Minister.
