KATHMANDU: 13 Nepali citizens who were held hostage in Malaysia have been rescued and six among them are returning home on Tuesday.

On Monday morning, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ instructed Chief Secretary Shankardas Bairagi to take stock of the situation of the Nepalis who were taken hostage and take steps to immediately release and rescue them.

Based on the PM’s instructions, the government contacted the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

13 Nepali citizens working in Malaysia’s PRS Forest Management Company are returning to their country.

According to the information provided by the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia to the Prime Minister’s Office, all the 13 workers have been arranged lodging and food in a Nepali hotel at the expense of the manpower company.
