Hikmat Karki reclaims Koshi Province Chief Minister position following SC ruling

Hikmat Karki, the leader of the CPN-UML parliamentary party in Koshi province, has been reinstated as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province, marking his second tenure in the role.

His appointment was carried out by Province Chief Parashuram Khapung, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directive issued on Thursday.

Karki has officially taken the oath of office and secrecy, with Province Chief Khapung administering the oath during a ceremony at the Office of the Province Chief.

RPP offers support to UML-led govt in Koshi, opts not to join cabinet

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) parliamentary party in Koshi Province has made the decision to lend its support to the government led by CPN-UML leader Hikmat Kumar Karki.

RPP leader Bhakti Sitaula announced that his party would stand behind the UML-led government but clarified that they would not be appointing any ministers to the cabinet.

PM Dahal to lead 24-member delegation to UN General Assembly

PM Dahal is set to visit the United States of America on September 16 to participate in the UN General Assembly. Unidentified person assaults Janaki Temple priest in Rautahat

An incident unfolded as an assailant targeted a priest (sadhu) within a temple located in Rautahat district. The attack occurred on priest Misrilal Sah, who serves at the Sri Ramjanaki temple situated in Deviparsa tole of Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality 3 in the district.

ICC Women’s Twenty-20: Nepal faces defeat from Thailand

Nepal have faced a defeat at the hands of Thailand in their first semi-final match played today under the ICC Women’s Twenty-20 World Cup Asia Region qualifier. Thailand trounced Nepal by 46 runs in the match held at the UKM YSD Oval cricket stadium in Malaysia. With this defeat, Nepal’s dream of reaching the World Cup Global Qualifiers has been dashed. Nepal, who were chasing a victory target of 106 runs posed by Thailand, were contained in 59 runs all-out in 19.3 overs.
