KMC announces day of mourning today following passing of Rijal

KATHMANDU: In remembrance of Mukunda Rijal, the ward chair of KMC-16 who passed away on Thursday morning, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has declared Friday as a day of mourning, granting a day off to all KMC offices.

Deepak Adhikari, the head of the administration department, made the announcement on behalf of KMC, expressing their sorrow over Rijal’s demise.

Rijal had been battling pneumonia and was admitted to Grande International Hospital on September 3.

He succumbed to the illness at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday while undergoing treatment in the ICU.
