UML continues HoR disruption following Home Minister’s address

The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has upheld its position on the establishment of a High-Level Committee to investigate the gold smuggling case, thereby sustaining its obstruction of the House of Representatives (HoR) proceedings on Tuesday. This disruption by the party is a direct outcome of their unyielding demand for the creation of a high-level inquiry committee tasked with delving into the intricacies of the gold smuggling issue.

Rolpa bus mishap claims four lives, 14 injured

A devastating bus accident in Rolpa’s Bagmara en route to Dang’s Ghorahi has resulted in the untimely demise of four individuals, with an additional 14 passengers left wounded. The accident took place at Triveni-7, Gairigaon, Rolpa. According to local reports, the ill-fated Na 5 kha 2612 bus plummeted a staggering 50 meters off the road during the mishap.

CIB expedites investigation into Lalita Niwas land grab scam

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police is swiftly advancing its investigation into the Lalit Niwas land grab scam. The CIB has been probing the matter and has recently obtained arrest warrants against four former ministers suspected of being involved in the scam. The fraudulent acquisition of 143 ropani of government land took place between 2049 BS and 2069 BS.

Two-way traffic resumes along the Narayangadh-Mugling road section

Two-way traffic has resumed on the Narayangadh-Mugling road section. The two-way traffic resumed at 2:20 pm after clearing the landslide that occurred at 5:20 am this morning. Vehicular movement was disrupted due to a landslide that occurred at Kalikhola and Topekhola of Ichchhakamana rural municipality-6. Although one-way traffic was resumed on this section of the highway from 11:00 am, it has now come into full operation from this afternoon.

Gold price down by Rs 300 per tola today

Gold price decreased by Rs. 300 per tola in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been set at Rs. 112,100 per tola, while standard gold is being traded at Rs. 111,550 per tola.
