Janamat Party likely to join government: Chairman CK Raut



KATHMANDU: Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut has hinted that his party is likely to join the CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Dr. Raut said that he has not been able to talk to the Prime Minister about participation in the government of late. However, his party might join the government provided such an environment is created.

“Due to the Prime Minister’s visit to India and the budget, the matter could not be discussed with the Prime Minister,” he said, adding, “However, there is the possibility to join provided everything becomes conducive and the Ministry is evacuated.”

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who was appointed as the Prime Minister on December 25, made Abdul Khan of the Janamat Party the Minister for Water Supply when he expanded the cabinet for the first time. Khan resigned from the post saying his party did not get the chosen Ministry.

Lately, Prime Minister Dahal has prepared to bring Janamat Party back into the government. For that, Prachanda is preparing to recall a minister from the Maoist center from the government.
