Speaker instructs govt to clarify on Mahendra Yadav attack and child’s death at Kanti Hospital



KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Devraj Ghimire, issued a directive to the government asking it to provide Parliament with information regarding the recent tragic events involving Congress Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav and the demise of a 5-year-old girl due to carelessness at Kanti Children’s Hospital.

During today’s special session of the House of Representatives, parliamentarians expressed deep concern about these incidents.

In response to their concerns, Speaker Ghimire instructed the government to furnish details about both the attack on lawmaker Mahendra Yadav and the untimely passing of the young girl.

Speaker Ghimire emphasized, “Today, at an unexpected and crucial moment, we are faced with grave matters: the sudden demise of a 5-year-old girl at Kanti Children’s Hospital and the assault on Mahendra Yadav, a parliamentarian. I direct the government to present a comprehensive report on these issues to the House.”

During the meeting, members of Parliament called for stringent action against those responsible for these reprehensible acts.
