Agenda for PM Dahal’s China visit not finalized: Foreign Minister

KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister NP Saud has stated that none of the agendas for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s upcoming visit to China have been finalized.

Instead of compiling an extensive list of topics, the focus will be on actionable work proposals, he said.

“As of the present moment, no agendas have been definitively settled,” he declared during a meeting of the International Relations Committee on Thursday morning.

Foreign Minister Saud elaborated, “Various ministries continue to submit proposals through the Ministry of Finance. Our approach is to prioritize workable proposals rather than assembling an extensive list. Currently, no agendas have reached the conclusive stage.”

Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to depart for New York on September 16. He will embark on his visit to China on September 21, 2023.

Foreign Minister Saud disclosed that he and the Foreign Secretary are actively discussing and crafting the visit’s agenda.

They have convened meetings with secretaries from various ministries, former foreign ministers, and ambassadors to ensure comprehensive preparations for the visit.
