NC holding meeting of District Presidents even today

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) is convening a meeting of district presidents today as well.

A total of 42 district presidents and representatives from 18 districts are participating in the meeting, taking place at the NC party central office in Sanepa.

During the meeting held on Thursday, 26 district presidents shared their perspectives on the activities of the district party as well as current political issues.

Following this, today, the remaining district presidents will express their views.

The meeting will also feature speeches from the two general secretaries, Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma.

In Thursday’s session, some district presidents expressed their dissatisfaction, highlighting concerns such as a lack of coordination, the party’s working style, budgetary issues, and the expansion of ad hoc committees of sister organizations.

Meanwhile, the party is also holding a meeting of its Central Committee meeting on July 12.

A meeting of party leaders, including party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa, and Bishwo Prakash Sharma decided to call the central committee on July 12.

Even though the party’s central committee should sit every two months according to Clause 21 of the party charter, the meeting is being held after a year.

Earlier, the Congress Central Committee meeting was held from July 11 to July 18, 2022.
