Bodies of three Yarsha collectors missing in avalanche recovered after 32 days



MUGU: Three Yarsa collectors who went missing in an avalanche have been found dead after 32 days.

DSP Mahesh Basnet of Mugu District Police Office informed that the bodies of 40-year-old Tarasingh Sarki, 35-year-old Punya Sarki, and 35-year-old Bir Bohora were found.
15 people from Talfi village of Patarasi Rural Municipality-2 in Jumla had gone to pick Yarsagumba in Patan, Mugu.

According to DSP Basnet, they went to collect yarsa in Mugum Karmarong-2 Charkhu Lekh of Mugu on May 5 and disappeared in an avalanche.

Rescuers from Nepal Police and Nepal Army were deployed to search and rescue the avalanche victim.

DSP Basnet said that there was a problem in the search operation due to heavy snowfall in the mountains including Patan due to continuous snowfall.
“We brought the bodies of the three missing people two kilometers below the scene,” he said.

A team of doctors from District Hospital Mugu has reached to the incident site for the post-mortem examination.
