NC parliamentary party meeting decides to ‘full-shape’ CWC
The parliamentary party (PP) meeting of Nepali Congress (NC), the largest party in the parliament, has decided to focus more on organizational strength and give completion to the Central Working Committee (CWC) at the earliest. According to NC chief whip Ramesh Lekhak, the PP meeting held at the party’s office in Singha Durbar on Saturday decided to make the party robust and take it ahead united in the days to come.
Leader Nepal holds NC responsible for ‘left-democratic coalition’ break up
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has blamed Nepali Congress (NC) for the Left-Democratic coalition break-up. Addressing a program in Kathmandu on Saturday, the Unified Socialist Chair said that the latest twist in the political arena and breaking up of the NC-led coalition was all due to NC leaders’ arrogance and selfishness.
Foreign power centers are trying to topple govt by not allowing vote of confidence: KP Oli
CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has said that foreign power centers have started plotting against the government prior to its taking a vote of confidence. Addressing the 10th convention of the Nepal Marble Business Association, the UML chair accused the foreigners of playing the game of overthrowing the government after realizing its formed against the wishes of external powers to increase instability.
Govt has given high priority to federal education act: PM Dahal
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the formulation of federal education act is in the priority of the incumbent government. Prime Minister Dahal shared that the government was serious to formulate the federal education act. “Most of the problems related to education sector and teachers will be resolved after the formulation of the act”, he said.
Bird census starts today
Bird census started in Nepal today. Himalayan Nature, under the leadership of the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, started counting birds in all national parks, wetlands and reservoirs of the country.
NHRC recommends investigation against 130, including Upendra Yadav in 2007 Gaur carnage
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recommended the government to investigate and prosecute 130 people, including Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav, in the Gaur incident carried out 16 years ago. As many as 27 Maoist workers were killed and 115 others injured in a clash between the Maoists and cadres of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum on March 21, 2007.
TU decides to hold FSU elections on March 19
