Police seize 7 to 8 kg of gold from New Road jewelry shop

KATHMANDU: Acting on a tip-off about the alleged sale of smuggled gold, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office conducted a raid on a jewelry shop in New Road, leading to the confiscation of approximately 7 to 8 kilograms (kg) of gold.

During the operation, police arrested Padam Prasad Pandey, the owner of Om Pal Gold Shop.

The confiscated gold includes both jewelry and gold bricks.

Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
