KATHMANDU: The Hult Prize, a prestigious annual business pitching competition dedicated to tackling urgent global social challenges, has officially launched at Shanker Dev Campus (SDC).

Centered around the theme of social enterprise innovation in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this year’s event is set to embark on an inspiring journey for participants.

The Hult Prize event this year not only provides a platform for students to foster innovative solutions for critical social challenges but also offers a remarkable opportunity for participants to compete at the semifinal and final levels, leading to regional recognition, a statement issued by the Hult Prize team at SDC, said.

The Hult Prize at SDC organizing committee has crafted a series of impactful initiatives, including enriching webinars, tailored grooming sessions, and engaging on-campus competition.

Concurrently, the introduction of ‘Project Deego’ aims to spearhead sustainable development projects encompassing various community-centric programs.

From food and cloth donations to tree plantations, menstrual hygiene campaigns, blood donations, and the promotion of education through book donations, the project is poised to create a substantial local impact.

Participants will have the privilege of presenting their groundbreaking ideas at a 3 or 5-star hotel, in the presence of esteemed judges, distinguished chief guests, and their peers, comprising both students and teachers.

Moreover, the event offers an enticing prize pool totaling Rs 100,000, to be distributed among the winner, first runner-up, and second runner-up, serving as a motivating force for participants to push the boundaries of social entrepreneurship.

Additionally, Shanker Dev Campus is dedicated to providing comprehensive support for idea incubation and prototype development, while facilitating connections between participants and potential venture capitalists and investors eager to support impactful ideas, the statement added.
