KATHMANDU: Three school buildings built with the Government of India’s financial assistance of NRs.108.60 million in Dailekh under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ were handed over to concerned local authorities of Nepal.
The school buildings, including Shree Malika Higher Secondary School, Lalikanda; Shree Bhairav Secondary School, Badabhairav; Shree Jagadish Secondary School, Badakhola, and one Campus building of Shree Narayan Campus, Rampur were jointly handed over by Prashant Kumar, Sona, SS (DP), Embassy of India and Namraj Shahi, Chief, DCC, Dailekh, recently.
These projects were taken up as High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) under an Agreement between the Government of India and the Government of Nepal.
All these school and campus building projects were implemented through DCC Dailekh, a statement issued by the Embassy of India, said.
These school and campus buildings will help the students in the area by providing them with quality educational infrastructure and create a suitable environment for good quality education in Dailekh District, it said.
Since 2003, India has taken up over 544 HICDPs in Nepal and has completed 480 projects.
Among these, 14 projects are in Karnali Pradesh of which 4 projects are in Dailekh. In addition to these, the Government of India has gifted 940 ambulances and 184 school buses to various hospitals, health posts and educational institutions in Nepal on the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day of India.
Among these, 6 ambulances have been provided to Dailekh district, till date.
These projects are the reflection of India’s development partnership with Nepal and complements effort of Government of Nepal in augmenting infrastructure in the field of education.
