Ruling coalition’s decides to grant public holiday on Prithvi Jayanti

The ruling coalition has decided to declare provide a public holiday on Prithvi Jayanti.

The coalition has included the decision to grant public holiday on Poush 27, the birth anniversary of late King Prithvi Narayan Shah.

The 18-point Common Minimum Program (CMP) announced by the ruling coalition on Friday mentioned that the coalition parties decided to give a public holiday on the day of Prithvi Jayanti (birthday of Prithvi Narayan Shah), January 11.

Ruling coalition to announce Common Minimum Program on Saturday

The parties involved in the ruling coalition have prepared the Common Minimum Program (CMP) of the government to be announced on Saturday.

The task force meeting of the ruling coalition parties held at the Ministry of Finance on Friday finalized the CMP of the government.

The ruling coalition has formed the task force under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel to prepare the CMP.

Labor permits to be issued from all seven provinces from Sunday

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security is to issue the institutional and individual labor permit from the seven provinces from January 8.

Before this, the Ministry had been providing labor permits only from Kathmandu.

BFIs collect over Rs 530 billion in deposits in six months

Banks and financial institutions (BFIs) have collected over Rs 532 billion in deposits as of January 4 of the current fiscal year, 2022/23.

The figure was around Rs 520 billion until December 15, it has been said. Of the deposits, commercial banks alone collected Rs 467.5 billion, according to data with the Nepal Rastra Bank.

Hearing on the writ filed by advocate Yuvaraj Paudel ‘Safal’ and others seeking an interim order against Lamichhane’s position of lawmaker and Home Minister on Friday, the SC did not issue an interim order.

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of the top leaders of the party for the preparation of Saturday’s parliamentary party (PP) meeting.

According to NC sources, Deuba called the party’s top leaders to his residence in Dhumbarahi for a discussion.

The NC President has called the leaders including Vice Presidents Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretary duo Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Gagan Thapa for discussion.

The top leaders of all political parties in the parliament are scheduled to address the newly elected parliament on January 10.

Until a new regulation regarding the conduct of the meeting of the House of Representatives is made, the meeting will be held according to the old regulation.
