Govt to finalize Common Minimum Program today



KATHMANDU: The government is finalizing the government’s Common Minimum Program (CMP) with the objective of providing easy and smooth services to citizens by today.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane, said on Thursday, said ruling coalition partners would give a final shape to the CMP.

He opined, “Leaders of the ruling coalition partner are meeting today in this connection. We have reached the final stage. We are planning to finalize the document by Friday.”

The DPM mentioned that the government’s common minimum program would be unveiled soon.

The common minimum program has been focused on making government service delivery easy and smooth, providing chemical fertilizer to farmers in a smoother manner, youth employment program and different policy-level revisions, he added.

DPM Lamichhane further said the common minimum program has also incorporated a concrete plan like providing health service and education in a smooth manner, controlling corruption and making government’s work performance effective.

He shared that there is a common view among all ruling coalition partners to provide easy and smooth service to the citizens even though the partners have different political ideology.

The ruling coalition partners had also discussed on government’s common minimum programs on Wednesday evening as well.
