Unified Socialist reschedules general convention to May 16-20

The CPN (Unified Socialist) has revised its decision and set new dates for its general convention, now scheduled to take place from May 16 to May 20 next year. This decision was reached during the party’s Central Secretariat meeting held on Tuesday. Initially, the party had announced the general convention to be held from January 28 to February 1. However, after the recent deliberations, the new dates have been finalized for May.

Hearing on Ncell tax dispute case postponed until February 27

The Supreme Court has deferred the hearing of the Ncell tax dispute case, previously slated for today, to February 27. The case was added to the postponed list after it was not selected by any available justice during the lottery on Tuesday. The ongoing tax debate revolves around the Malaysian company Axiata’s Ncell, which was set to face a crucial hearing regarding a lingering dispute over Capital Gains Tax.

TikTok initiates registration process in Nepal

TikTok has taken steps to register as a social network in Nepal, having sent an email to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology for registration purposes. Netra Prasad Subedi, joint secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, confirmed TikTok’s initiative, mentioning that the platform expressed its intent to register in Nepal.
