KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ called a high-level meeting aimed at delving into the purchase and sale of Ncell, a private telecommunications service provider in Nepal.
According to Prime Minister Dahal’s Secretariat, the discussions concerning the ownership and trading of Ncell shares took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday evening.
Attending the session were Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party leader Rajendra Shrestha, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, alongside several ministers.
This meeting comes in the wake of Malaysian company Axiata’s recent divestment of Ncell shares to a UK-based entity owned by non-resident Nepali, Satishlal Acharya.
