PM Dahal instructs to make relief and rehabilitation effective

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has issued directives for making the relief and rehabilitation for the Jajarkot earthquake victims effective. Addressing the meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management National Council held in Singha Durbar today, he instructed the bodies concerned to carry out the relief and rehabilitation operations with the necessary preparation and by taking the earthquake-affected people into confidence.

Govt to provide Rs 2 lakh each for Jajarkot earthquake victims’ families

The government has announced an immediate relief package of Rs two lakhs for the families of the victims who lost their lives in the devastating Jajarkot earthquake. This decision was reached during the Council of Ministers meeting convened at Singha Durbar earlier today (Sunday) morning.

Jajarkot earthquake: 3,770 houses damaged

The earthquake that struck on Friday night wreaked havoc across multiple districts in Nepal, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. According to the latest report from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a total of 3,770 houses in seven districts have been damaged, with 2,838 houses suffering partial damage and 932 houses completely destroyed.

India handsover first consignment of emergency relief materials for earthquake victims to Nepal

Following up on the commitment by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide assistance to Nepal following the earthquake in Jajarkot, the first consignment of the INR 10 Crore worth of emergency relief materials arrived at Nepalgunj, Nepal, today.

T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers: Nepal loses to Oman in Super Over

In the final of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier, Nepal lost to Oman in the Super Over. Oman won the Super Over in the match held on Sunday at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Earlier, Oman scored 184 runs for the loss of nine wickets while chasing the target of 185 runs given by Nepal. For Oman, Kashyap Prajapati scored 63, Aqib Ilyas scored 33, Zeeshan Maqsood scored 26 and Mohammad Naseem scored 24.

Bodies of all those Nepali students killed in Israel brought home

The remains of all ten Nepali students killed in the last month’s assault by Hamas militants in the south Israel have been brought home. According to Foreign Ministry’s joint-secretary, Sharad Raj Aran, with the arrival of the body of Padam Thapa, of Lamikhal-8 in Doti via the Fly Dubai flight at 11:30 last night, Nepal receives the mortal remains of those killed in the attack.

Health services being provided in open at Barekot of Jakarkot

Healthcare facilities are being provided in the open at Barekot, the epicenter of the recent earthquake. The 10-bed Barekot health facility has made temporary arrangements for rendering services in the open after its building was damaged by the disaster.

Government to provide free treatment of quake-injured

An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held this morning has decided to provide free medical treatment in all the hospitals for those injured in Friday night’s earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum West. Minister of Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that the rescue of the quake survivors has been almost complete and all hospitals including in Kathmandu are on standby for providing treatment to the needy.

Jajarkot earthquake: Rescue work in final stage

The government has said that the work of search and rescue of those affected by the Jajarkot earthquake has reached its final stage. All three levels of government are working in coordination to rescue the earthquake survivors in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim, the two districts largely affected by the Friday night’s tremor.
