Pakistani, Azerbaijani nationals arrested for fraudulence



KATHMANDU: Police arrested a Pakistani and an Azerbaijani national on the charge of their involvement in cheating and made them public.

A team from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Nazir Mohammad, 51, of Rawalpindi of Pakistan, currently living in Thamel, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, and Ishail Hussenil, 31, of Azerbaijan, currently living in Thamel, said Office Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police, Rabindra Regmi.

The special team deputed from the office based on the complaints arrested both of them from Thamel.

They used to cheat the people taking them into confidence showing fake documents including work permit in order to send them to different countries including the Czech Republic, Norway, Poland and Portugal for overseas employment.

In course of investigation, both of them were found taking 1,000 US dollar per person showing fake offer letter, work permit and visa.

As per the preliminary investigation, they had cheated eight million rupees in this manner, according to the Office.

Both of them were sent to the District Police Range, Teku, for further investigation, shared Regmi.
