Two Indian nationals arrested at TIA with 320 grams of gold



KATHMANDU: Two Indian citizens were arrested at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) while attempting to bring 320 grams of gold into Nepal.

They have been identified as Mihir Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, 26, and Aachal Pragnesh Kumar Jaberi, 30, TIA sources said.

The incident unfolded when the duo arrived in Kathmandu from Dubai via a Himalayan Air flight.

Authorities intercepted and arrested them during the arrival gate inspection at TIA.

The authorities discovered gold in their possession, including one metal ball weighing 220 grams and a chain, as well as another metal ball weighing 100 grams, all concealed within their belongings.

The arrested individuals were handed over to the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office in Kathmandu, where an investigation into the matter will be conducted.
