POKHARA: The election to elect a new leadership of the CPN-UML Gandaki Province convention is being held today.
Following a nomination process that commenced late on Wednesday and stretched into the evening, the election committee has now streamlined the remainder of the program.
One of the key features of this election is the use of electronic voting, promising swift results.
A total of 907 delegates are set to cast their votes today, playing a pivotal role in determining the new leadership of the province.
Notably, the race for Gandaki Province Chairman features two prominent contenders: the outgoing Chairman, Navraj Sharma, and central member Mayanath Adhikari.
In a development worth noting, 27 members have already secured their positions in the Committee without any opposition.
Out of the 162 Committee posts, 27 have been filled through uncontested elections.
The Election Board’s preliminary list of candidates also indicates that 27 individuals have run unopposed, adding intrigue to the CPN-UML Gandaki Province convention.
