Christian proselytizer assaulted and turned over to police in Janakpurdham

JANAKPURDHAM: In a disturbing incident, individuals engaged in proselytizing Christianity through various means were subjected to a violent attack in Janakpurdham.

Several residents of Janakpurdham physically assaulted a man and a woman who were publicly preaching Christianity.

The incident unfolded at 8 o’clock on Tuesday morning, near the Janakpur Trauma Center Hospital, in the vicinity of Road Balba Toll in Janakpur. The local residents apprehended the two individuals engaged in religious preaching.

Among the two religious preachers, only the man was subjected to violence by the locals. They admonished soot the man, however, spared the woman saying such a deed would be sinful, police quoted a local.

A group led by Amit Raut from the Hindu organization ‘Hindu Samrat Sena Nepal’ apprehended both individuals.

The organization alleges that they handed over the proselytizers to the police on charges of misrepresenting and maligning religion.

DSP Bed Prasad Gautam of District Police Office, Dhanusha informed that the police are investigating the issue.
