KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged all to show patience on the Citizenship Bill related dispute as the issue has reached to the court now.

The Prime Minister clarified that the government recommended the Citizenship Bill prepared and passed by the Federal Parliament earlier and has not made any changes in the Bill recently validated by President Ram Chandra Paudel.

Addressing the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, PM Dahal said that the essence of the Citizenship Bill has been as prepared during the CPN-UML-led government and Nepali Congress-led government.

” The purpose of recommending the Citizenship Bill is the same as it was during the then UML or NC government. There are 1.2 million people without citizenship; the issue should be addressed,” he said, adding, “As the dispute has reached to the Court, everyone should show patience and wait for the court’s verdict.”

PM Dahal remarked that Nepali citizens should get citizenship easily and the government should address it.
