PM Dahal and Speaker Ghimire hold telephone talks

KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has initiated discussions to end the obstacles seen in the House of Representatives.

Speaker Ghimire called Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and discussed the issue of ending the obstruction of the House of Representatives.

He reminded PM Dahal about the “pressure of time” to pass the budget and sought the latter’s initiation for a dialogue with the opposition parties.

Speaker Ghimire called PM Dahal as the opposition parties, including the CPN-UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Rastriya Swatantra Party, obstructed the meeting on Sunday putting forth various demands, including the release of Resham Chaudhary, Citizenship Bill, and border issues.

PM Dahal, meanwhile, said that he was aware of the demands raised by the opposition in the House and said that he would give a clarification in today’s Parliament.

“I will also talk to the opposition parties including UML Chairman KP Oli,” Prime Minister Dahal assured the Speaker.
