Martyr’s Memorial A Division League: Himalayan Sherpas beat Nepal Police by 2-1



KATHMANDU: After losing 2-1 to Himalayan Sherpa in Martyr’s Memorial A Division League undergoing in the capital city, Nepal Police Club has reached the relegation zone again.

Foreign players Abayomi Fakunle and Amrit Shrestha scored goals as Sherpa added three important points at the Dasharath Stadium on Friday.

Abayomi gave Sherpa the lead in the 14th minute, but Saujan Rai equalized in the 30th minute to bring the Police back into the game. However, at the beginning of the second half, Amrit Shrestha gave Sherpa the lead again.

After this win, Sherpa has moved up to seventh place with 20 points from 15 games. It has got 5 wins, 5 draws, and 5 losses in the League so far.

With the introduction of foreign players, he won consecutively in the last three matches. Police are second from the bottom with 15 points from 15 matches with 4 wins, 3 draws, and 8 losses.

Even though they have the same 15 points as Friends Club who have played one game less, the Police is ahead head-to-head.

There will be three matches in the league on Saturday. The match between NRT and Church Boys will start at 3 pm at Chyasal ground.

At the same time, Manang Marsyangdi and Satdobato will face each other at Dasharath Stadium.

Lalitpur clubs Friends and Three Star will face each other in the match to be held at Dasharath Stadium from 6 pm.
