Meeting of eight coalition partners underway in Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the top leaders of eight political parties is underway in Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s official residence in Baluwatar.

The Meeting undergoing in Baluwatar since 4.30 pm has been attended by Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center chairman Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Unified Socialist General Secretary Beduram Bhusal, Janamat Party leader Abdul Khan, Lotantrik Samajbadi Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC, and Janata Samajbadi Party leader Rajendra Shrestha and others.

The meeting has been called to discuss the coalition’s future strategy after agreeing on a consensus candidate for the presidential election.

Baluwatar sources said that the meeting will discuss the current political developments, and the presidential election, among others.

Meanwhile, leaders of the Nagarik Unmukti Party are not attending the meeting since Ranjita Shrestha, Chairperson of the party is out of the valley.
