Govt to finalize Common Minimum Program by tomorrow

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane, has said final preparation is underway for chalking out the government’s Common Minimum Program (CMP) with an objective of providing easy and smooth services to citizens. Talking to media persons at Singha Durbar, DPM Lamichhane shared that discussions on it would also be held among ruling coalition partners today itself and final shape would be given to the common minimum program.

NC Prez Deuba and Upendra Yadav hold talks

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav held talks on latest political situation. In a meeting held at Deuba’s rented residence in Dhumbarahi on Thursday, the two leaders discussed contemporary political issues.

Prime Minister Dahal instructs to reduce fuel prices

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has directed the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to reduce the price of petroleum products. Prime Minister’s Press Coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma informed that Prime Minister Prachanda instructed the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to adjust the price accordingly due to the decrease in the price of petroleum products in the international market.

Gandaki Province Chief Gurung calls for formation of government

Chief of Gandaki Province, Prithvi Man Gurung, has called the parties representing in the Province Assembly (PA) for the formation of a government. A PA member with the majority backing by two or more than two parties representing in the PA can claim the position of the Chief Minister as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

TU preparing to hold FSU elections on March 19

Tribhuvan University (TU) has prepared to hold the elections of Free Student Union (FSU) on coming March 19.  Earlier, the preparations were for March 12 and the schedule was postponed by a week in consultation with various students’ unions.

Air quality degrades throughout country

The air quality has degraded across the country including the Kathmandu Valley lately. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the lack of winter rainfall has led to the high level of air pollution in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Tulsipur in Dang, in Dhankuta and in the southern plains.

Nepal T20 Cricket League: Janakpur Royals beat Pokhara Avengers by six wickets
