United Socialist holding Secretariat meeting today

KATHMANDU: The Unified Socialist Party is holding its Secretariat meeting today at the party’s central office in Aloknagar.

The primary agenda for discussion is the determination of the new date for the upcoming convention, initially scheduled for January.

This decision comes in light of the National Assembly elections coinciding with the previously planned timeframe.

Jagannath Khatiwada, the Head of the Publicity Department, stated that the Secretariat meeting has been convened to address the logistical challenges posed by the simultaneous scheduling of the convention and the elections.

The meeting is expected to delve into crucial matters, including the examination of inter-party directives aimed at resolving internal disputes.

This entails the potential reassignment of responsibilities among leaders, division of work, and nominations to various committees.

Moreover, the agenda encompasses discussions on formulating strategies to enhance the party’s structure and strength.

Plans for expanding the organization at the grassroots level and establishing a robust party foundation will also be on the table for deliberation.

Khatiwada emphasized that the meeting will address the current political landscape and deliberate on necessary actions to be taken.

Furthermore, the international scenario will be a focal point of discussion, with the aim of formulating a strategic role for the party in response to global developments.
