China pledges NPR 100 million in relief materials for Jajarkot-Earthquake victims

KATHMANDU: China has made a commitment to provide relief materials valued at NPR 100 million for the purpose of aiding the earthquake victims in Jajarkot and Rukum West, Nepal, with their relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, shared in a tweet on Saturday, “As our initial emergency response, China will deliver materials amounting to 100 million NPRs to the earthquake-affected region, which will include tents and blankets. These essential supplies are expected to reach their destination within the next few days.”

Ambassador Song extended his condolences to the families of the earthquake victims and committed to remaining steadfast in support for the Nepali people and government during these trying times.

A seismic event, registering a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale, struck the hilly districts of Jajarkot and Rukum West in the Karnali Province on Friday night, resulting in 157 casualties and hundreds of injuries so far.
