BIRATNAGAR: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has maintained its silence toward the formation of a new government in Koshi province.
The RPP’s parliamentary party of Koshi province has given the responsibility of deciding on the future coalition in the province to party chairman Rajendra Lingden.
The PP meeting held at RPP Chairman Lingden’s house entrusted Lingden to take the decision from the top level.
According to RPP sources, the party would claim for the Koshi Chief Minister but would consider joining the government even if the Ministry for Economic Affairs or Internal Affairs.
RPP leaders have come up with the logic that RPP should not become the catalyst to cause the Mid-term election in the province.
RPP is a decisive power in the formation of government.
In the meantime, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba met RPP Chair Lingden and requested for support.
RPP was in the CPN-UML-led alliance till Friday. After UML leader Hikmat Bahadur Karki failed to garner a vote of confidence.
Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist, Janata Samajbadi party have formed another alliance and agreed to form the government under NC leader Uddhav Thapa.
