SC issues interlocutory order not to implement Citizenship Bill

The Supreme Court has given a short-term interim order not to implement the Citizenship Bill recently approved by the President. According to SC spokesperson Bimal Paudel, the single bench of Supreme Court Justice Manoj Sharma issued a short-term order not to implement the Citizenship Bill approved by President Ramchandra Paudel last Wednesday.

HoR meeting postponed till Monday

The meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned until Monday. The meeting which was first postponed for one hour on Sunday was adjourned without sitting again. The Parliament Secretariat informed that the meeting will be held on Monday at 11 am.

Court grants 3 days to public prosecutors and 6 days to defendants’ lawyer for remand arguments

The Kathmandu District Court has granted three days for public prosecutors and six days for defendants’ lawyers for remand arguments which began on Sunday. The hearing to decide whether to continue the prosecution against the accused holding them in custody or release them on bail on a case of extorting money from Nepali citizens by creating fake Bhutanese citizens and sending them to the United States has started in the Kathmandu District Court.

Schools closed due to rising temperature

Dudhauli Municipality in Sindhuli district has decided to close down the schools after steady rising in temperature for the past few days. The municipality has given summer vacation to the school for one week after teaching and learning activities were hampered due to the scorching heat.

President appoints ambassadors to various countries

President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed ambassadors to various countries. The Head-of-the-State has appointed six resident ambassadors and non-resident ambassadors to various countries in accordance with the Constitution of Nepal, stated the Office of the President in a communiqué today.

Seti hydropower project in final stage

The work of the 25 MW Seti river hydropower project has reached its final stage. The project is being built in Sardikhola of Machhapuchchhe Rural Municipality-2. The construction of the hydropower project that started from Bhadra, 2077 BS has seen 90 percent of the work completed so far.

MFD urges people to adopt precaution to protect from heat wave

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has urged people to adopt necessary precaution to be protected from heat wave, as it is possible in Tarai areas of the country next few days. The MFD has urged all to adopt necessary precaution for five days.

Three die in Palpa jeep mishap

Three people died in a jeep accident in Palpa on Sunday. According to DSP Birendra Pandey, the Lu 1 Ch 9024 jeep going from Saljhandi in Rupandehi to Arghakhanchi met with an accident at Keveredanda in Rainadevi Chhara-8, Satyavati, Palpa.

NEPSE goes green on Wednesday, increases by 53 points

After the Finance Ministry’s clarification regarding the capital gain tax on the share transactions, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed indicators grow green resulting in the 53-point rise on Wednesday. The stock market index NEPSE increased by 53.03 points to 1,919.37 points on Sunday.
