PM Dahal and UML Chairman Oli hold talks in Baluwatar

Discuss RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane's two-day ultimatum

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli held a meeting today (Saturday).

The meeting between the two leaders took place amid a conflict that has surfaced lately between the ruling coalition partners.

It may also be noted that both Prachanda and Oli have asked Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane to wait for two days on the issue of appointing the Home Minister.

After the Supreme Court’s decision, Lamichhane had to quit the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The RSP has been demanding that the party should get the Home Ministry. The Lamichhane-led RSP has also warned of quitting the government if it did not get the Ministry of Home Affairs.

There has been a rift among the ruling coalition since then.

The problem surfaced when Prime Minister Dahal refused to appoint Lamichhane as the Home Minister.

Lamichhane has also been in regular touch with Prime Minister Dahal and UML Chairman Oli.
