Maoist Center holding Standing Committee meet even today

KATHMANDU: Ruling Maoist Center is holding its Standing Committee (SC) meeting today as well.

Standing Committee members of the party will present their opinions in the meeting to be held at the party central office in Parisdanda, Koteswor today afternoon.

The party had called the meeting on Friday, which, however, was postponed at the last hour due to the busy schedule of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who is also the Prime Minister.

In Thursday’s meeting, Dahal briefed the leaders about the current political situation.

A leader of the party said leaders today will share their views on matters such as the appointment of the Home Minister, the presidential election and the change of party responsibilities.

On Thursday, party Chairman Dahal also briefed the meeting that the ruling coalition was in crisis as the Rastriya Swatantra Party was adamant about its demand of the Home Ministry.

Meanwhile, even the CPN-UML, a major partner in the ruling coalition, has taken the position that the Home Ministry should be given to Rastriya Swatantra Party.
