25 injured in a rabid dog attack



CHITWAN: At least 25 persons were injured in serial attacks of a rabid dog in different places of Ichhakamana rural municipality.

A rabid dog had gone rampage in Majhgaun, Nagdaha, Dhap and Chisapani at ward-3 of the rural municipality.

The dog had attacked pedestrians and those working at home. According to vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, Maya Silwal, the rabid dog had attacked and injured 25 people in the interval of two hours.

Twenty among the injured were treated at Kurintar health post while five critically injured are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, she informed.

Silwal further shared that after the incident the rural municipality took control and killed the rabid dog and sent it for test.

Health Section chief of the rural municipality Basudev Sapkota said that all those attacked by rabid dog were asked to contact the health section of the rural municipality.
