Minister Sharma provides relief materials to quake-affected journalists

TRIBENI, RUKUM WEST: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has provided relief materials to the journalists of Rukum West who have been mobilized to the areas affected by the earthquake in the district.

The minister handed the relief materials (30 sleeping bags and 30 jackets) to Laxman KC, President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Rukum West amid a function here today at the district administration office. The materials will be distributed to 30 journalists who worked in the quake-hit areas, it has been said.

Others present on the occasion were Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Panta, the FNJ Central President Bipul Pokharel and Vice president Udaya GM.

Warm clothes have been handed to the quake victims and the journalists who have been deployed to the quake-hit areas to collect news, said the minister Sharma.

The FNJ district president KC said the materials were distributed to the affected journalists today itself.

Besides distributing warm clothes to the affected journalists, their morale has been boosted after journalists from the centre visited the district and encouraged mofussil journalists, he said. The minister, who reached out to the quake victims in various areas of Salyan district yesterday, is scheduled to visit many quake-hit areas in Rukum West and Jajarkot, it has been said.
