KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has urged for the effective implementation of constitutional and legal tools relating to the rights of persons with disabilities to bring about progress in their living standards.

In a message on the occasion of the 32nd International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the President said that the living standards of persons with disabilities could be improved only by the effective implementation of the Act Relating to Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In his message, the President has also called for the promotion of human rights, dignity and social justice for the persons with disabilities.

The President has also stressed the need to advance the issues of persons with disabilities for the implementation of the Constitution of Nepal and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
