Woman held with one kilogram of gold from Rasuwagadhi checkpoint



RASUWA: A woman has been arrested with a kilogram of gold about to be smuggled into the country.

Pachemu Tamang, 41, a resident of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-3 was arrested from the Miteri bridge, according to District Police Chief Subas Budhathoki.

Tamang was arrested by border security personnel after she was found with a kilogram of the yellow metal she had brought from Kerung and entering Nepal through the Rasuwagadhi border crossing.

The woman who brought the gold was found ill and was admitted to Rasuwa Hospital for treatment.

The police said that further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Prabesh Tamang, 16, of Kavre and living in Kathmandu was found after he had got lost from Dimsa in Rasuwa.

While returning from Gosainkunda with his mother after observing the Janai Purnima festival, he missed the main road and entered into the forest path.

Following two days, Sushil Thokra, a resident of Dhunche, found him in Khopang Bhir area as he was one his way to Dhunche. Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force had carried out the search after he was reported missing.
