Five arrested for intimidating people in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A team of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested five persons on the charge of their involvement in threatening general people from Jorpati.

They are Shyam Bahadur Lama, 34, of Sindhupalchowk district, currently living at Gokarneshwor of Kathamndu, Bikki Lama (Bafle), 28, of Ramechhap district, currently living at Jorpati, Bhim Bahadur Basnet, 36, of Sindhupalchowk district, currently living at Kageshowri Manahara of Kathmandu.

Other include Govinda Gajmer, 35, of Sindhupalchowk, currently living at Mulpani, and Prabin Tamang, 35, of Sindhupalchowk, currently living at Gokarneshwor, said Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police at the Office, Rabindra Regmi.

According to him, the arrestees have been accused of reaching and unnecessarily picking disputes, issuing threats and creating terrors among general people in places including Bauddha and Jorpati in the Kathmandu Valley, and beating up people, and engaging in illegal activities in groups.

They have been sent to the Police Circle, Bauddha, Kathmandu for further investigations, said the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
