HETAUDA: The Bagmati Province government is set to organize a weeklong vaccination campaign against lumpy skin.

The campaign, scheduled to begin on August 10, aims to control the spread of the disease, which has been causing a significant impact on cattle in recent times.

The province Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has said around 40,000 cattle in the province will be vaccinated against the viral infection during the campaign.

The disease, caused by the Capripox virus and originally found in Africa, is characterized by symptoms such as fever, excessive salivation, lacrimation, and skin eruptions in affected animals.
