Ruling coalition proposes NC leader Uddhav Thapa as Chief Minister of Koshi Province

A meeting of ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar has decided to pick Uddhav Thapa, a leader from the Nepali Congress (NC), as the coalition’s candidate for the position of Chief Minister in Koshi Province. A meeting called by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” concluded with the decision to form the Koshi government under the leadership of the NC.

Peaceful revolution needed for good-governance, prosperity: PM

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” asserted that there was a need for a peaceful revolution for ensuring good-governance, justice and prosperity. Speaking at a program organized here today to mark the 12th anniversary of GP Koirala Memorial College as well as the 100th birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, PM Dahal argued that the anomalies, anarchy irregularities and the threat to democracy could not be mitigated through general reforms.

Nepal makes place in final, beats Singapore by 97 runs

Nepal has reached the finals of the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup Cricket undergoing in Malaysia. Nepal made a place in the final after defeating Singapore by 97 runs at the Bayuemas Oval cricket ground. Chasing a target of 185 runs for victory, the Singaporean batsmen were helpless against the Nepali bowlers. Singapore was bowled out for 87 runs in 31.3 overs. Kattik Kamat of Nepal took 3 wickets.

Additional two arrests made in Lalita Niwas Land Scam

Two more individuals connected to the Lalita Niwas land grab case were apprehended by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Monday. According to SSP Dinesh Acharya of the Bureau, the arrested individuals include former employees Ramesh Kumar Pokharel and Dev Narayan Maharjan.

Elderly crushed to death by a wild tusker

A wild tusker crushed an elderly person to death at Mechinagar Municipality-10 this morning. The deceased has been identified as Panna Devi Saha, 80, informed Mechinagar ward 10 chairperson Narayan Khanal. He shared the elephant crushed her to death on the road while she was on her way to pick flowers for worships.

Narayangadh-Muglin road cleared, restored for two-way traffic

The Narayangadh-Muglin road, which was previously blocked due to landslides, reopened for two-way traffic. According to the local police office in Muglin, the road was blocked on Monday morning after a landslide occurred in Ichchakamana-5 of Chitwan district.

GP Koirala’s birth centenary marked today

Former President of Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister the late Girija Prasad Koirala’s birth centenary is being marked today across the country by organizing several programs. Koirala who was born in 18 Asadh 1981 had passed away in 6 Chaitra 2066 BS.
