KATHMANDU: Nepal has reached the finals of the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup Cricket undergoing in Malaysia.
Nepal made a place in the final after defeating Singapore by 97 runs at the Bayuemas Oval cricket ground.
Chasing a target of 185 runs for victory, the Singaporean batsmen were helpless against the Nepali bowlers. Singapore was bowled out for 87 runs in 31.3 overs. Kattik Kamat of Nepal took 3 wickets.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Nepal batted first and scored 184 runs losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 35 overs.
Openers Suryanshu Koirala and Niraj Kumar Yadav shared 63 runs for the first wicket for Nepal.
Koirala scored 43 runs while Niraj Kumar Yadav was dismissed for 42 runs as the fourth wicket. Captain Abhishek Tiwari was dismissed for 25 runs.
Hariharan from Singapore took 3 wickets.
Nepal will now play the home team Malaysia in the final tomorrow, Tuesday.
By defeating Hong Kong in the semi-final, Malaysia has already made a place in final.
