Malaysia beat Nepal by 4 wickets: 2/2 draw in five-match series



KATHMANDU: Nepal lost to home team Malaysia by 4 wickets in the fourth match of the women’s T20 cricket series on Saturday.

Malaysia met the 97 runs target set by Nepal in Bangi, Malaysia in the last ball of the match. Malaysia won the match by four wickets.

With this, the five-match series has been tied at 2-2.

In Malaysia’s victory, opener Winifred Duraisingham scored the highest 38 runs. Mahirah Ijati Ismali Ismail was out for 16 runs and captain Mas Alisa was out for 13 runs. For Nepal, Kavita Joshi, Ruveena Chhetri, Sita Ranamgar, and Kabita Kunwar took one wicket each.

Before that, Nepal, who won the toss and batted first, scored 96 runs losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Indu Barma scored 32 runs for Nepal. Bindu Rawal added 24 runs. For the home team, Winifred Duraisingham took 3 wickets and Aisa Eleesa and Mahirah Izzati Ismail took 1/1 wicket each.

Nepal lost the first match by 5 wickets and won the second and third matches. Nepal won the second match by 7 wickets and the third match by 27 runs. The final and decisive match of the series will be held on Sunday.
