Police call Secretary Pandey in connection with Bhutanese refugees related fraud



KATHMANDU: The police have called former Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey to the police office in the incident of cheating Nepali citizens by making them Bhutanese refugees.

According to SP Sitaram Rijal, Pandey was present at the district police complex in Kathmandu on Wednesday after being called by the police.

He was the Home Secretary from 11 August 2021 to 18 September 2022. Currently, he is working as a secretary in the office of the Vice President.

Only on Tuesday, the police arrested former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal’s security advisor Indrajit Rai. He was arrested after it was revealed that the previously arrested persons, in a statement, had also handed over the money to Rai in the statement.

An arrest warrant has also been issued against Indrajit’s son Niraj Rai in this incident. Niraj has not been arrested yet.
