NEPSE declines by 16.67 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE)’s cold response to the newly appointed Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat continued on Monday as the stock market declined by 16.67 points today.

The NEPSE fell by 0.88 percent on the second trading day after receiving Finance Minister Mahat.

The stock market index NEPSE closed at 1871.88 points with a drop of 16.67 points.

NEPSE fell by double digits due to decline in all sub-indices, including banking, which leads the market.

While the trade sub-index increased the most by 1.21 percent, the non-life insurance,  hydropower, microfinance, development bank  sub-index declined by more than one percent.

The transaction amount, which was 1.2 billion Sunday, shrunk to 920 million on Monday.

As the share price of Kalinchowk Darshan Company increased and closed at the positive circuit price, the share price of Mahuli Microfinance increased by 3.16 percent and the share price of Bishal Bazar Company increased by 2.50 percent.

While the share price of Asian Hydropower Company fell by 5.03 percent, the share price of Mayakhola Hydropower decreased by 4.81 percent and the share price of Jalpa Community Microfinance decreased by 4.47 percent today.
