Police nab eight allegedly involved in bank accounts-hacking



KATHMANDU: The police arrested eight people on charges of hacking bank accounts and withdrawing money illegally.

According to Lalitpur Police, the arrested eight were nabbed on the allegation of hacking the mobile banking account of Hariprasad Dhakal of Lalitpur Satdobato in NIC Asia Bank and withdrawing four lakh rupees from there.

Dhakal lodged a complaint about the theft of money at the District Police Complex, Lalitpur.

Based on the complaint, Ajay Chaudhary of Parsa, Raju Patel, Sahil Parvez, Dinesh Raut, Shiv Shankar Raut, Ravina Chaudhary of Rautahat, Santosh Kunwar of Bara, Dilip Chaudhary of Saptari and Awadhesh Kumar of Bihar province of India were arrested from various places in Kathmandu and Makwanpur.

The police recovered nine mobile phones, one laptop and five ATM cards from them.

The police are investigating the arrested eight on banking crime offence.
