PM Dahal issues 30-point directive to govt secretaries
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has issued 30-point directives to the government ministries’ secretaries on various topics including making the public services and matters pertaining to public concern prompt and efficient. PM Dahal directed the secretaries of various ministries today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on subjects related to good governance, service delivery and the people’s livelihood.
Unified Socialist undecided about joining government
A meeting of the CPN Unified Socialist remained inconclusive about joinin the government. The meeting held in the capital on Tuesday ended unconclusively but entrusted the party’s Secretriat to decide on the issue.
Ramesh Lekhak picked Nepali Congress Chief Whip
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has nominated Ramesh Lekhak as the party’s Chief Whip in the House of Representatives. The office of the Congress Parliamentary Party said that NC President and leader of the Parliamentary Party Sher Bahadur Deuba nominated Lekhak as the Chief Whip in accordance with Article 1 of the Revised Statute of the Parliamentary Party.
Let returnees bring two mobile phones from abroad: PM Dahal
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has instructed Ministry of Finance to create an environment to let returnees bring two mobile phones for personal purposes from abroad. According to Prime Minister Dahal’s secretariat, the Prime Minister urged the Ministry of Finance to make conducive environment to bring in extra mobiles for personal purposes.
Minister Shrestha makes surprise inspection of Ekantakuna Transport Office
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayankaji Shrestha made a surprise inspection of the Ekantakuna-based Transport Office in Lalitpur on Tuesday. Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah moves SC against EC fine
Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) against the Election Commission (EC) decision to fine him on the charge of not submitting the election expense details on time. Earlier, Mayor Shah had requested the Commission not to fine him as he had already submitted the details within the given time. However, as EC took no action against the Mayor’s request and asked him to submit the fine at the earliest, he approached the apex court.
