DPM Shrestha pledges to provide land for landless people



CHITWAN: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has pledged to make the works of the National Land Commission a success even by issuing an ordinance.

Addressing the 6th National Conference of National Land Rights Forum Nepal in Narayanghat of Chitwan on Saturday, DPM Shrestha announced that the landless people would be provided with the land plots at any cost by making the Commission’s jobs effective. “We have made commitment to meet the Commission’s objective of providing land to the landless farmers,” according to Shrestha.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the issues of the landless farmers would be addressed at any cost even by amending the laws.

Representatives of different political parties and stakeholders shared their views in the national conference presided over by Acting Chairman of National Land Rights Forum Nepal Megh Bahadur BC.

The national conference will conclude on Sunday by electing the new leadership of the Forum.
