KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) Nepal has initiated the release of funds designated for the construction of temporary housing in regions affected by the Jajarkot earthquake.
Dhruva Bahadur Khadka, the spokesperson for the NDRRMA, disclosed that nearly 240 million rupees were disbursed on Friday to support housing initiatives for the earthquake survivors. This disbursement supplements the earlier allocation of 220.09 million rupees for the same purpose.
The initial installment targets 18,328 verified beneficiaries out of a total of 28,527 individuals. Among those receiving aid, 3,309 beneficiaries reside in Jajarkot, 214 in Bajura, 14,224 in Rukum Paschim, and 577 in Bajhang.
Khadka further stated that funds for 1,485 beneficiaries in Salyan are pending disbursement and are slated to be released promptly as part of the ongoing relief efforts.
