KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the incumbent government has initiated campaigns for good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity.

Addressing a program at Ghattedanda of Chandragiri Municipality-2 in Kathmandu today as part of the Maoist Center’s Three-Month-Long Special Campaign for Party’s Transformation, the PM stated that reforms have been initiated in service delivery to ensure that people won’t have to face hardships.

“The government has taken steps to address problems people facing every day. Citizens have been provided accessible service on passport distribution, driving license and the migrant workers suffering abroad,” according to the PM.

Likewise, the PM was of the statement that a social security scheme has been launched to ensure social security to the informal sector workers, self-employed people, and Nepali migrant workers abroad.

“Now, more than 300,000 migrant workers have joined the social security scheme. This number is expected to reach around 2.5 million in the near future. Not only the migrant workers in foreign countries, but we have also started bringing informal sector workers and self-employed ones into the social security fund. This has opened up the door for 5 million Nepalis to join the Fund,” Prachanda shared.

Stating that the government initiated actions against fake Bhutanese refugee scam, Lalita Niwas land fraud, and smuggling of gold and usuries, Prachanda argued that a section of the people is fearful of this incumbent coalition government.
He added that they fear the Maoist Center’s increasing strength like that of 2064 BS.

On the occasion, he pledged to work for the cause of the country and people until he remains in the government’s leadership. “I will work for the cause of the nation and people with utmost honesty until the last day of my premiership.”

Maoist Center’s assistant general secretary Janardan Sharma also spoke on the occasion stating that the party has come to the people by correcting its weaknesses. “We will reach every door step,” Sharma said.
